greece was a wild ride. and don't take the word ride lightly. the amount of time we spent on the bus is not healthy (for one's mind & body). i understand that we needed to drive to the archeological sights, which were amazing, but i was about to stop the bus.. lie in front of one of the wheels & tell them to go on without me. ancient greece is fantastic and everyone should get a chance to go see and learn about it. but, the problem was that modern greece (the cities and country) were blowing my mind. the scenery was fabulous and i was stuck watching some of the best potential photographs pass me by while i tried to hold back my tears on the damned bus. that was the worst part of the trip. NO FREE TIME. i now know why i've never done a guided tour while traveling. but seriously, despite all the rain, bus time and schedules, it was a fantastic experience. i am most definitely going back to athens someday. the city is sprawling. i need to explore it more.
